Four other youths and a girl witnessed the accident as Jones disappeared after stepping into a lake hole near a dock. patrolman W B Barton recovered the body. A Langsford funeral home palmer could not revive him. He had just graduated from East High June 1 and worked for Hall Brothers Inc. at 2505 Grand Ave. He left home after reporting illness and joined the group. He leaves his mother, stepfather, a 7-year-old half brother, and his maternal grandmother.
