Pulitzer Prize winner Richard Wilbur will read from his poetry at Kal tanazoo College on Friday January 8 in the Dalton Theatre Light Fine Arts Building as part of the campus Festival of the Arts. He is a Wesleyan University English professor and 1963 Pulitzer winner for Things of This World.

The Peace Corps Placement Test will be held at 8 30 a m Saturday January 9 in Room 35 of the Federal Building 410 W Michigan Ave with about 800 testing centers nationwide The test has two parts general aptitude and a modern language aptitude no language knowledge is required Applicants should bring a completed Questionnaire no registration needed The test lasts about 90 minutes unless the optional Spanish or French achievement test is taken Eligibility requires US citizenship and at least 18 years old Married couples may apply if they have no dependents under 18 College degree is not required but helpful Many blue collar skills are being sought overseas

SNCC Freedom Singers To Perform Benefit Concert

Pianist Bruce Simonds to Lecture Recital at Kalamazoo College
Bruce Simonds retired Yale School of Music dean will visit Kalamazoo College for a two session event next week. He will give a lecture recital Monday at Stetson Chapel and a piano workshop Tuesday in the Light Fine Arts building recital hall. The events are part of the Festival of Arts celebrating the new fine arts building with free admission and preregistration required.

Kalamazoo College to Begin Library and Dorm Projects in 1965
Kalamazoo College plans a 1965 expansion with a new library at Thompson and Academy, a men’s dormitory named for Dr Herman H Severn on Carmel Street, and remodeling of Humphrey House into an International Center. The library will seat 700 students with 250000 volumes and later convert the old library to faculty offices. The dormitory will house about 118 men in six man suites with living, bath, and a director’s suite. Humphrey House renovation starts after dorm completion, adding reception areas, apartments, and guest rooms.
