Amid campus year end confusion, Student Senate announces Book of the Quarter picks Up From Liberalism by William F. Buckley and The Coming Political Breakthrough by Chester Bowles. The aim is to spark civic interest, challenge assumptions, and prompt questions about liberal and conservative thought through chapel programs and faculty talks.
The article details a January pledging timetable for Alpha Sigma Delta, Gamma, and Kappa Pi with quotas, bid selection by preference, and events at Trowbridge House. Open house dates run January 10 and 17, with final votes on the same day.
Prospective pledges must submit their society preference orders to the Dean of Women by 10 am Saturday January 20. On December 5 Kalamazoo College introduced a marathon study session called the cramathon. The library opened at 10 p.m. and stayed open until 4 30 p m Friday, a sixty six and one half hour period. Women could sign out for night study at Mandelle Library.
Dorothy Adlow of the Christian Science Monitor will lecture on Backgrounds of Modern Art at 8:00 tonight, sponsored by the Women's Council. A tea in her honor will be held 3:30 to 4:30 this afternoon in Trowbridge Lounge. Agi Jambor will headline Kalamazoo in March for Bach Festival performances with the festival conducted by Dr. Russell A. Hammar.

During Christmas vacation Kalamazoo College received two unrestricted gifts from the petroleum industry. The Esso Educational Foundation awarded $3,500 on December 12 as part of its 7th annual program. Texaco, Inc. followed with a $1,500 grant on December 22.
