A Chevrolet coupe owned by A. W. Browning was stolen Saturday night from in front of his ranch on Johnson Fork. The car contained groceries and laundry. Sheriff J. O. Wright is investigating but had no report to share Wednesday.
Mrs. Roy Spiller hosted a Monday birthday party for her son Rob Roy at the Legion Hut. Nancy Spiller and LaDell Camp led games as guests sang Happy Birthday and enjoyed a seven candle birthday cake with punch. Attendees included Gordon Bishop Rudy Tatum Marian Crawford Lewis L Wilkins Jr Martha Claire Martin and many others plus Rex Baker and his children visiting Sonora relatives.
Mr and Mrs Cody Cardwell entertained with a Halloween forty two party at home Friday evening. Maltese kittens won by Mrs Thomas Coney and Morris Murr for high scores. Consolation prizes went to Mrs Harold Dutton and Ernie Goule. Miss Hazel Spiller daughter of Mr and Mrs Hugh Spiller earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Texas on Thursday. She plans to return to the Spiller ranch for a few weeks before going back to Austin to work. Mrs P V Watters visiting her parents Mr and Mrs Tate Jarvis is formerly Miss Loma Bell Jarvis. Her husband in the U S Air Corps is stationed in Colorado. Mr and Mrs John Guthrie of Edwards County were in Junction for business.
Marvin Couey Steve Couey and Dud ley Cardwell headline a local gathering with the host and hostess leading the event.
