Culberson Dies in Washington Former Texas Senator
Washington March 19 For mer Senator Charles A Culber son of Texas died here early Thursday He was 70 and had long been an invalid requiring a wheelchair in the capitol He served 24 years in the senate and was a leading Texas Democrat His career included two terms as Governor and as Attorney General He helped frame the espionage act of 1917 and chaired the Appropriations Committee during 1913 1919 Note the body was brought to Fort Worth and buried there earlier in the week.

The Pecan Belt highway extends from Fredericksburg to Comanche via Llano San Saba and Goldthwaite after efforts by the local chamber of commerce and others. Men jailed here on theft charge
Vernon Watters and F Finnley both of Menard county were arrested in Brady Tuesday and sent to Kimble county jail. About 300 pounds of mohair were stolen from J E Deats near South Llano Monday night. Sheriff Gibbs helped trap the pair who were in Brady attempting to sell the mohair. The Deats ranch sits in Ward county, the case will move there and they were to be transferred to Ward county jail yesterday. The mohair was returned to Junction Tuesday.

Fire loss report shows 1924 Brady totals and values
The Brady Fire Department record for 1924 reports $1,055 monthly fire loss and totals of $12,663.85 in losses, with buildings valued at $59,100 and contents at $48,500. Insurance on buildings and contents stood at $71,934 against a total valuation of $107,600. W. B. Hardeman visited Kerrville Tuesday for ranch improvements.

Special Session Urged for Scholastic Funds in Texas
Austin March 19. The house passed a Laird resolution urging the governor to call a special session to appropriate enough money for a $15 per capita for every scholastic. The senate had failed to pass a $4,000,000 education fund. The measure says it would be unfair to fund higher education at $14,000,600 while neglecting common schools. The vote was 38 to 8 with no record vote due to no quorum. Carl M. Wolf underwent eye growth removal in San Antonio and reported progress when contacted Tuesday.
