More Good Rains for Hill Country Boost Crops
Heavy rain measured from one and a fourth to one and one half inches drenched the Hill Country last Thursday and Tuesday. Junction reported one and a quarter inches on Tuesday and a quarter on Monday, lifting prospects for hay feed and a cotton crop. East and southeast rain along the Llano River and into Sutton County improves range and crops, with 17.70 inches in the year per EK Holekamp’s gauge. The recent showers soaked the soil slowly and rivers rose only about a foot.
