Baptist Revival Closes After Two Week Campaign
Evangelist J. G. Winsett led a two week revival ending Sunday night with the largest crowds yet. Seventy joined the church, forty baptized Sunday after noon by Winsett and Pastor Kelley. A park dinner followed morning services. Winsett and singer Turner headed to Roby for a new revival. Kelley visits Segovia with Bierschwale, returns for Sunday services. Menard pastor to preach Sunday evening.

Federal enforcement men visit Kerrville
Federal prohibition officers operating from San Antonio conducted raids in Kerrville last week based on evidence secured by a Secret Service man. On Monday seven arrests were reported, and Tuesday three white men, two white women, and two Black men were taken into custody along with liquor. A return raid Wednesday aimed to make more arrests, but numbers were unavailable at press time.

Spencer last of Furey gang goes to prison
W B Spencer, last of the Joe Furey confidence gang that swindled J Frank Norfleet out of his fortune in a Fort Worth hotel years ago, was taken to the penitentiary last Sunday afternoon. He faces an eight year sentence for his complicity in the Norfleet swindle after recent transfers and habeas corpus appeals. Nineteen convicts accompanied him from Fort Worth to the penitentiary.

Wild duel on Segovia street ends with hawk and coach whip battle
Don Jones on a Segovia area ranch trail observed a hawk grapple with a coach whip snake in town. The hawk attacked the snake, which resisted fiercely and engaged in a rare street duel as onlookers watched the unlikely spectacle unfold. Read Eagle ads note a winner.

Snake Kills Hawk in Grasping Squeeze Fatal Strike
A snake used its body as a weapon, coiling around a hawk in a double half hitch. Its constricted form choked the hawk to death, and the pair remained entwined after both died, making separation nearly impossible.
Mrs Wallace Dies in Kerrville After Illness
Mrs Annabell Riley Wallace wife of J A Wallace of Junction died at Kerrville Hospital last Friday after a several week illness and an operation. Funeral services were held in Junction with Rev Bradshaw officiating and burial in the local cemetery. Born March 20 1880 in Sedalia Missouri she came to Texas young and later married in Creedmore 1903. The family moved to Kimble County in 1912 and four children were born two sons Astor 19 Dennis 18 and a daughter Azlee 8 with another daughter dying in infancy. She is survived by her husband three children two brothers W P Riley Junction and J H Riley El Paso. A large crowd attended the cemetery services. The Eagle extends sympathy.

Felps and Blackburn Wed After Morning Service
After Sunday morning services at the Methodist church, Rev J Virgil Davis joined Joe Felps and Miss Effie Roy Blackburn in marriage. Present were the bride’s sister Sallie and Messrs. Wm. Wilson and Jeminy Felps. The groom, son of Riley Felps, works for John Braley at Rocksprings and they will reside there temporarily. The bride, daughter of Judge and Mrs M E Blackburn, is well educated and recently part of the local high school faculty after attending Southwestern University. The couple’s romance began in their teens.
