Highway from Red River to Del Rio Includes Junction

Fort Worth hosts a December meeting to launch an active campaign for preliminary highway plans from Grayson to Val Verde counties. A $600 monthly fund for 12 months will finance secretarial and office costs as counties contribute, with headquarters and a contact man to push the project to commissioners.

Junction Girl Honored at Howard Payne

Miss Nettie Wright of Junction is named sponsor for Howard Payne jackets after a student vote total of 6 301 for her and 737 for rival Queen Anderson. Wright, sister of Jacket star Pooch Wright and center Bill Wright, received a bouquet in a celebratory box side seating moment with escort Geo Burns and attendants. Mrs. S P Bennett and Mrs. Guy Wynner returned from Austin Friday.

Sock Social A Baptist Church Fall Fundraiser

Last Friday evening the ladies of the Baptist Church hosted a sock social at Mrs. W. S. Pearce home. Autumn decorations and games filled the night as Ea and Carl Grossbrenner provided music. Guests calculated a foot measure to play a penny-guessing game, raising 61.27 for the church building fund. Chicken sandwiches fruit salad whipped cream hot chocolate and cake completed the evening.
