In front of a large crowd last Wednesday the Local High team defeated Schreiner Institute, a foe long believed formidable. The score opened 13 to 1, and the Local squad added to a season with eleven games played, including wins over London Rock Springs Menard El Dorado and the Institute, plus ties and losses among other opponents. The Tourist Cafe changed hands last Saturday with R C Bruce taking charge Tuesday the first. Bruce, formerly of Rochelle, returns to the county after years away and will likely operate locally. The Christian Church Ladies Auxiliary plans its annual Bazaar at Light and Water Co office on December 5 selling handmade items and serving sandwiches coffee tea cake and chili.
