Famous Soldier Chorus to Appear With Army Band in City

The internationally famed Soldier Chorus of the Army Band, formed by Master Sgt. Arthur Donatrio, arrives May 23 for a 1 40 pm Capitol appearance. From five voices to an eighty-strong group, they have performed at Carnegie Hall, Hollywood Bowl, San Francisco Opera House, and Paris Champs Elysees Theater, with a 1946 activation and current broad sponsorship by the Department of Defense for all audiences.

Complete Bridge Projects Awarded By State Highway Commission

The State Highway Commission announces contracts awarded for two Missouri River Bridge projects in this city. The first removes the old bridge and installs a permanent barrier. A 12-lamp mercury vapor lighting system will be installed at equal intervals along the bridge. The removal, barrier, and lighting work will be supervised by District 3 engineer Jette Sayilie with Ki am district structural engineer directing and J. L. Glenn serving as resident engineer.
