St Louis Missouri May 17 The St Louis San Francisco Railroad was placed in bankruptcy today by Federal Judge C B Faris under the new federal debtor law. Receivers James M Kurn and John G Lonsdale will continue in charge of the property as the road seeks approval for a reorganization plan favored by more than two thirds of bondholders. The petition lists past due bond interest 5 730 341 and past due equipment trust obligations 2 244 517 with large amounts owed to Reconstruction Finance Corporation and banks. Receivers will operate the road until further orders.

Plead Not Guilty In Le Mars Assault
