Missouri repeal vote eyed by attorney general over loophole
Attorney General Roy McKittrick flagged a loophole in the Weetts bill that could allow legal challenge to delay Missouri’s repeal vote. Gov. Guy B. Park plans proclamations for a September election, possibly before six months after adjournment, to avoid complications. The act, effective July 24, requires delegates to be elected at a special election set by proclamation within six months of submission. Delegates to the repeal convention would be chosen as precinct and district conventions prepare.
