Curick to Quit as Agent Saturday. Hall Named Successor

Joe Curick, Cole county extension agent since April 1941, announced he will resign on Saturday. Hensley Hall, formerly Cooper county agent, will succeed him after a Farm Bureau board presentation. Hall has 16 years in extension work, including Laclede and Cooper counties, and will base in Boonville. Curick moves to Sedalia as farm loan appraiser for the southern district of Missouri.

Women Prison Escapees Captured Hours After Escape

Two inmates of the women's penitentiary escaped around 7 pm yesterday and were recaptured about an hour later by Fulton police and the State Highway Patrol. Helen Pearl Hunter, 39, of Kansas City, and Mary Josephine Ennis, of St. Louis, were the targets of a city-wide search prompted by several tips, though none pinpointed their location.

Vined for Speeding Carl Ray Fined in Police Court

Carl Ray of Centertown pleaded guilty to speeding on 50 West yesterday afternoon. He was fined five dollars in police court today.
