Sunshine Evangelist Wife Alleges Abuse In Divorce Suit

Mrs Jessie R Walker wife of Carl C Walker known as The Sunshine Evangelist filed an amended divorce petition charging him with drinking daily associating with other women and cursing her. She says he called her old hag battle ax ball and chain and that he married her again to appease public sentiment. They remarried January 28 1927 after a prior divorce and trip to the Holy Land. The petition seeks restoration of her maiden name Jessie B Woolbridge. Walker operates a tabernacle at 3100 East Thirty List Street.

Wabash Engine Crew Injured in Wreck

G L Larson enginer and James Simcoe fireman both from Moberly are in Wabash Hospital for injuries after jumping from train No 20 at Kinlock Fork near St Louis to avoid a collision with a freight. They probably cannot work for several weeks as the pilot was torn from one engine and the damage deemed slight.

First Carload of 1930 Wheat Reaches Southwest Market
