Five Held in Okla Gang Tied to Missouri Freight Theft
Five suspected gang members including Earl Brashear C H Comstock Jesse Carpenter Katherine Comstock and Lula Myers were arrested at a Chickasha tourist camp amid an investigation into the shooting of Fred Robertson a Missouri Pacific Railroad special officer at Pleasant Hill Missouri last week. A sedan used by the group carried merchandise believed stolen from freight cars and three Kansas City police officers aided local and federal agents in the case. Robertson was unhurt.

Three men arrested at Chickasha Oklahoma in the shooting of Fred Robertson special officer of the Missouri Pacific at Pleasant Hill are linked by Sheriff Thomas B. Bush to a freight car thief gang operating in the Kansas City area for two months. Bra shear 43 allegedly led the gang. CG. H. Comstock 32 and Jesse Carpenter 29 have prior prison terms. Robberies charged to the gang include Lexington Lees Summit and Sedalia Missouri as well as Pleasant Hill. An intercepted letter mailed to a house said to be the gang's headquarters led to the Chickasha arrests.
