Chicago Aug 24 AP Two prisoners charged with slaying Cicero street car conductor demanded a venue change from all Cook County judges arguing that the crime war inflamed citizens and juries making a fair trial impossible. A policeman’s killer was sentenced to death in the electric chair days after a holdup slaying.
Postal Life and Casualty Insurance Company reports a record 103,921 new low accident policies issued in 1932. The plan pays up to 100 monthly for 24 months for disability and 100 for death, costing less than 10 a day, with ages 10 to 70 eligible and no exam required.
