Diving helmet disaster ends life on Arkansas river
In Mariana Ark on August 8 William Lawrence 26 died when a homemade diving helmet he fed with air failed while gathering mussel shells on the St Francis River. His brother Edward heard a distress signal from the rope around William’s waist but could not pull him to the surface when the rope detached. The brothers moved to Arkansas from Vernon Texas three years ago.
