A foreign diplomatic source in Korea supports Foreign Minister Ben Lipid's view that a US offensive will not stop at the 38th parallel. Peace Marchers Clash With Police in New York Rallies

About two thousand left wing peace demonstrators clashed with roughly 1,000 police in Union Square and surrounding areas of Manhattan, resulting in 13 arrests. Fist fights broke out as mounted officers moved in, injuries were reported, and windows were smashed. Police dispersed groups toward 11th Street and 23rd Street as they ringed Times Square to prevent further action.
