OFF FOR COLORADO TO COLORADO SPRINGS FOR HEALTH

Lyne Monroe and family leave Jasper to seek health improvements in Colorado. They plan to enter the newspaper business in the state, stop first at Colorado Springs, and decide a permanent location. Mrs Monroe and two sons have previously benefited from Colorado, influencing the move. Monroe previously edited the Carthage Press and started the Jasper News before selling it.

Hurt at Carthage Fair Injures Donn Johnston

Donn Johnston living two miles north of town was injured last Thursday at the Carthage fair when a merry-go-round rope broke. The rope struck the neck of the horse, throwing the rider and horse backward and knocking Donn unconscious for several minutes. Mr and Mrs Frank Van Pelt of Kansas City visited with Mr and Mrs Dell Beam last Friday and returned home Saturday.

Jasper Leads At Koell Fair With Ribbons For All

Jasper and nearby exhibitors dominated the Koell Fair, with poultry horses cattle and farm products showing. F W Rumble won nine first premiums and two seconds on Lincolnshire sheep including three sweepstakes. C E Wright won on a yearling draft colt. Rosa earned multiple firsts and seconds on two colts. Vincent won on a Jasper Coach Horse stallion. Thompson captured many firsts including standard bred mare carriage team and yearling colt plus a 2:35 trot second, totaling about thirty-five dollars in premiums.

Verdict for Husband in Fuller Robinson Alienation Suit

In Lamar Missouri the Fuller Robinson alienation case ended with a jury verdict for the plaintiff of 615,000 after about an hour deliberation. Roy Fuller sued for 225,000 alleging alienation of his wife by Rodd M. Robinson, a Joplin businessman who employed Fuller as a bookkeeper. Mrs Fuller sought divorce but the divorce was denied. she and her children now live in Kansas City.

Local Merchant Plans Book and Jewelry Store

Mr H Bureb announces opening a book and jewelry shop in the post office building. He expects stock fixtures to arrive soon and will outfit show cases to display merchandise. The store will feature new and up to date items and arrange fixtures to elevate the stock.
