Thirteenth annual Joplin District Rebekah meeting at Jasper
The Thirteenth annual meeting of Joplin District No 51 was held in Jasper on Tuesday August 31 with over one hundred delegates. Officers elected for the ensuing year include Miss Jessie Rouse Webb City as president and Miss Edith Ally Sarcoxie as vice president. The Rebekahs recently moved into the OddFellows hall over Cordz store where the Jasper lodge room is praised as one of the prettiest in the state.

Jayner School Notes Open With Large Attendance
The Jayner Schools opened Monday morning with the largest attendance in years. High School enrolled 74 students on the first day, nearly half freshmen, with 16 of 31 boys. Last year’s eighth grade entered high school for the first time, 14 graduates, 100 percent in high school. Juniors back as seniors, sophomores mostly, and a strong first grade with 21 in the top group. Mr. Hull and Dr. Knott attended the opening assembly and pledged support. News priced at $1.50 yearly.
