Holidaying with Vincent in a rural escape

I narrate a plan with Vincent, Lord Wilfred Vincent, to flee London for a six week rural retreat. We seek a quiet village, old farmhouse, cows for painting and hammock lounging, avoiding debutantes and high society, aided by Vincent’s grace and a duke’s allowance. Our journey begins by train toward Cappstone.

A Humble Hoat Tale Of A Statesman And Bedside Comforts

Dens-Holes In England Discovered Between Woolwich and Erith

A large group of dene-holes was found in the forest between Woolwich and Erith. Cup-like depressions mark the locations. Two holes explored reveal circular shafts about three feet wide with side holes for ladders. Each extends roughly 60 feet through earth into chalk and into caverns eighteen feet high with six radial chambers around the central shaft. Such dene-holes are thought by archaeologists to store grain used around Roman Britain or earlier.

The Buenos Ayres Herald lauds the white helmet for police while lamenting hot weather uniforms. It asks for broader reforms including lighter fabrics, abolition of collars and gloves, and a flowing civic garb to fit local culture and climate.
