Jasper High School boys and girls pledged amounts from one to five dollars toward the United War Work Campaign. Total forty nine dollars, twenty one from pets. They urged themselves to aid war burdens and responsibilities with commendation.

Farm Changes Near Pleasant Hill Schoolhouse
H G Griffin sold 160 acres east of Pleasant Hill Schoolhouse last week to A I Dean for 100 an acre. The property is now occupied by Charley Bradshaw and family. Dean gains possession in spring. Nellie Harria will move to her place after. Tom Alexander rents the John Harris place now home to Mrs Nellie Harris. John Boucher and wife relocate from Fowler Kansas to live with her.

Death takes three from former Jasper pastor's family
Rev Mr Requa, formerly Jasper pastor of the M E church, now in Newberg Missouri, lost his wife and an infant child and a son about 16 to influenza last week. He had also lost his first wife since leaving Jasper and remarried. Friends express deep sympathy for his affliction.

John Isenmann Dies After Long Illness
John Isenmann, son of Mike Isenmann and wife, died Wednesday morning after a long stomach illness. Funeral is planned for Zion Church Thursday at 2 PM. A fuller obituary will appear next week as the paper prepares for press.

Frontline Chaplain Letters From St Louis Soldier in France

Former Jasper Man Dies in Arkansas
News from Jasper reports the death of A. Hamberg, formerly with Conrad Mercantile Co. in Jasper. Aged 25 to 30, he suffered lung trouble for years and died November 11 at his parents home in Lone Oak, Arkansas. He was respected by many friends and his wife and daughter Martha visited Dr and Mrs. A note last Saturday.
