The M E Sunday School Band played several selections before Sunday School. Roy Wells debuted as leading cornet. Heavy rains last week damaged church bagging operations, and concerns rise about remaining church goods businesses as nature progresses.
John Campbell II and John Campbell III are named as janitor at the school building. He has suffered several haemorrhages of the lungs and is very weak while staying at home in the north part of town.
The Liberty Baptist church Ladies Aid Society will host an ice cream supper and bazaar at W. H. Metzger's home on Wednesday May 10. All are invited to attend.
A Kansas City trade boosters train will stop in Jasper Friday May 21 around 4 00 p m. The visiting party includes representatives from many business classes and the trip aims to boost Kansas City trade while highlighting Jasper as a market for local produce and farm goods.
A baccalaureate service is set for Sunday May 16 at the M I Church. A large audience is expected and the public is invited. Commencement will be held at the opera house Thursday May 20 at 8 p m with a strong program promised for an enjoyable evening.
J Gulick livestock auctioned top Herefords five miles west of Jasper Missouri to J Atkin of Gravois, totaling 5650 for 1 lot. Sale featured seven bred heifers to Corrector Pallfax and yearlings at 2100 each, plus six yearling bullocks. Also notes playful verse inspiration and a separate quote about a Kentucky senator’s servant.
Epworth League of the ML Church hosts a May Day Fete at City Park Saturday afternoon at 2 30 with a Sunday School band, drills, a May pole, and crowning of a May Queen. Prizes listed for decorat ed baby carriage doll buggy bicycle tricycle and boys wagon auto. Grounds partly enclosed 10 cent admission. Voting for May Queen closes Friday 6 PM at Jackson and Crow stores. candidates include Helen Thomas Pauline Roberts and others.
The Lebanon Sunday School, five miles northeast of Jasper, meets at 10 am each Sunday under superintendent Henry Graham. Teachers include Mrs. Graham, Mrs. J. M. Rex, and G. H. Redmond. The church building has been painted and repaired, with Mrs. Fred Miller as organist. The group seeks neighborhood cooperation.

Priority work focuses on safety and reliability as crews replace worn components and adjust mechanisms to ensure smoother operation for riders.

Miss Dora Keeler closed a near successful term at Morning Star last Friday. Patrons and friends enjoyed a well filled basket dinner as the small school reflected on past years. Over 15 teachers have been employed since inception, with 16 students this year and eight families remaining from 14 years ago. Many former pupils have become local professionals and farmers, four deceased, thirty moved away from Jasper county.
