Death of Daniel Buerge in Jasper informs legacy of kindness
Daniel Duerge of Jasper died April 24 after a long illness at his North Main Street home. Funeral by Tev. Andrew Shenk at home. burial at Mitchell Cemetery with Mennonite choir and local pallbearers. Born February 17, 1846 in New Hamburg Ontario, he married Lydia Sebrock in 1865 and lived near Reed City then Cass County before Jasper. Leaves wife, two pastors, one brother, four children and eleven grandchildren. Remembered as a pious, generous neighbor who prioritized family and community services.

Jasper School Closes With Planned Graduation Events
The Jasper schools plan a week of ceremonies led by Baccalaureate on May 8 at 2:30 p.m. at M. J. Church, an eighth grade graduation May 11 at 2:50 p.m. with ten graduates, and high school exercises May 12 for seven graduates. Speakers include Rev. Fr. H. W. Rapp and Prof. M. A. O’Kear, with a Friday picnic and alumna banquet at the High School Building. The program features music, readings, and an address on Attributes Necessary for a Successful Life by Rev. Ed Supp.
