Annual School Meeting in Jasper Missouri
Voters in Jasper School District are warned of the annual meeting to be held at Dresslaer Barber Shop on Tuesday April 1 at 7 a.m. The meeting will consider electing two school directors for three-year terms and a levy of 10 cents per 100 valuation for school purposes. Also to vote for county school superintendent Jay Good and district clerk. This 11th day of March, 1919.

Double Funeral for Wright Family in Jasper Area
A touching funeral service was held Monday at the W. C. Mackey home near Jasper for Mrs. John W. Wright and her 20-year-old son Lennie Leroy, who died of influenza March 6. They were buried in Fas kin Cemetery after arriving from Brush, Colorado. Rev. J. W. Moore officiated. Mrs. Wright, a daughter of Charles Hendricks, was a sister of Mrs. Rachel Huckett and a niece of Mrs. John Ward and Mrs. J. J. Bowers. she had three children, with one infant. The Wrights had lived in Jasper County, Colorado, and Kansas before settling near Brush and later Rush, then moving to Colorado again for their children’s sake. Mrs. Wright was remembered as a generous, kind, devoted wife and mother. Lennie Leroy was described as honest and industrious with many friends. The Wright family expresses deep sympathy from their community.

Michael Hamm Dies After Prolonged Illness Near Jasper
Michael Hamm, a well known farmer seven miles northwest of Jasper, died at 4:45 Monday morning March 10 after a long illness of asthma and complications. He was born in Ohio to German parents and lived in Illinois before moving here about 12 years ago. He was nearly 62, survived by his wife, four daughters, and three sons. A Church of the Brethren member, he was highly regarded for his integrity. Funeral services were held Thursday at the Brethren Church on the base line, with burial there. Henry Sunderland conducted the service.
