Mrs Kaufman Dies Near Jasper After Illness

Mrs Jemima Kaufman who lived three miles north of Jasper died yesterday morning after not feeling well for some time. She rested with two sons and a daughter, all unmarried. Mrs Crow of McAlester Oklahoma is also a daughter. Funeral plans had not been set at press time.

Death of Alson Clary in Jasper

Alson Chiry aged 81 died at his Jasper home yesterday afternoon after a period of feebleness. He moved to Jasper from Hardin County, Ky six years ago and formerly served in the Civil War with the Confederate army. He leaves a wife Elizabeth and a sister Mrs J A Parker of Vienna Illinois, plus two grandchildren C L Clary of St Louis and Mrs H W Steward of Carthage. Funeral service will be at the Baptist Church today at 1 p.m. with burial in Park Cemetery at Carthage.

Follmer Dairy Closes Down

I B Follmer will quit delivering milk and cream this week. Faced with rising feed costs and 20 cows, he raised prices to seven and then ten cents a quart. Customers balked, selling half the herd, and he will sell cream to merchants while preserving some cows. He hopes to resume when conditions improve.

Speeding Paige Car Driver Causes Jasper Disturbance

A young man who brought the Rude basketball team to Jasper last Friday night sped through Jasper's main street endangering pedestrians. Mayor Hayzlett warned him, nearly ran over, then he was arrested and fined five dollars. He also lost his job as a Webb City Paige demonstrator due to the incident.

Rider injures knee while trimming horse near Jasper

Ulysses Lowenstein of two miles south of Jasper was badly hurt Tuesday while trimming a young horse with Clint Rand. The animal reared and fell on Lowenstein's knee, detaching the ligaments from the kneecap and likely keeping him sidelined for some time.
