Horse Thieves Busy In Agbury Area
Mr Stavens and Mr Elliott of Ag bury of the A IT T A were in Jan per Monday night and Tuesday looking for stolen horses and thieves. Saturday night a five year old sorrel horse hitched to a savvy luggy was stolen at Pittsburg Kansas on a Sunday night. A four-year old ranch horse here blind in the right eye was stolen from Joplin and the A WW T Ava are combing the country for the stolen property.

R P Major Passes Away
Benjamin D Major, respected farmer, died of pneumonia in a St Louis hospital on February 22 at age 71 years 8 months 40 days. He lived east of Doston since 1880s, visited a sister in St Louis January 16, survived by wife Rosa and five sons including J P Major who resided near Jasper and Benton Kansas. Funeral held at Mount Carmel Church near Golden City with Odd Fellows interment at the local cemetery.

Helen Hill, 17, daughter of FP Hill and wife, died Monday afternoon about 7 miles northeast of Jasper after reportedly ingesting strychnine. The community mourns a bright, social young woman, one of eight children, with funeral services led by Rev. Herman Taya at Mount Carmel Church and burial in the church cemetery.

Baby Burns From Floor Grate Accident
The seven month old daughter of Clarence Brown and his wife sustained severe facial burns after falling onto a floor grate that admitted heat from a basement furnace. The infant was playing on the floor when the accident occurred last Friday afternoon but is now recovering.

A letter from Park McMahan to Homer Bayne announces the death of Park's mother last Thursday at the Homeopathic Hospital in Philadelphia. Mrs. McMahan was the widow of a Presbyterian minister who died here years ago and is buried in Salem Church Cemetery. The letter said her body was placed in a vault with plans to bring it here later.
