Jasper Next Year District Convention At Liberal Meeting
The Ep worth League district convention for Mt Church will be in Jasper next year, decided at the Liberal convention last week. Jasper, Lamar, and Muth vied for leadership. Jasper won with 53 votes to Lanier M and Butler 15. Delegates numbered about 125, with Rev Feequenn and Miss Clara Bayne among Jasper's representatives. Tragic Accident Ends Life Of Samuel Casement
Samuel Casement, known as Dock, died two minutes after an accidental gun discharge at his father’s Lanar home. He had borrowed a revolver to go on police duty. a pistol discharged while he turned to hand it to his son, the bullet entering the breast. J. W. Boucher and Chas Swihart served on the jury that yesterday found D. F. Barnes not guilty of leading the Joplin men. Merluehber said the jury needed only a minute to decide as the prosecution failed to prove Barnes was in any leadership role. Separately, the Presbyterian Sunday School held a picnic at Date's droves west of town with Roy Welle as engineer and Claud Hoyrt as conductor. a pleasant, lively day for the group of young folks.
