Georgian Aline Wise, one year old and daughter of George Wise and wife, died Sunday February 23 near Jasper. The burial occurred Monday afternoon at Brethren Cemetery with Rev. JW Moore of Jasper conducting the funeral.
Miss Inez Replogle 1-year-old daughter of Mort Replogle and wife of the Carytown section died at her home Sunday after a brief illness. She suffered inflammation of the brain and endured several days of pain before death.
A neighborhood surprise party gathered Thursday night for the Wrightwad family in Carthage. About 4 o clock guests arrived, enjoyed games, music, and oyster soup, with a late supper of cake and pickles. Attendees included Tom Metwll Beat Keener Alfred Durnelt Ellis Wright and families among others.
George Lilly purchased the W. Fr. Miller 280 acre farm two miles west and one north of Jasper this week. Webb res. handled the sale. Lilly has bought other property, while Miller leaves Jasper after selling his farm. Miller is manager of the funeral equipment department of Aberanthys at Kansas City.
The Hatchet and Cherry Literary Society of Summit School held a pie supper on Friday evening February 21. Despite the storm a good crowd attended. Pupils performed, then pica and candy were sold. Candy brought 6.25 and the total proceeds reached 734.87. The society plans to buy an organ with the money. Captolla Cavenee, teacher.

William Shell died Sunday at his sister Mrs Robinson's home in Carthage from stomach and liver trouble. A bachelor, he lived alone on his Jasper County farm and had lived in Illinois before moving here at age three. Survived by three sisters and two brothers, funeral at Aion Church with Rev. J. McCaughtry and burial in Magoffin Cemetery. Music was provided by Mrs Drake, Maye Peterson, Menara, Omer Webb, and G P Campbell.
An elderly pair from Moremani of Mianyi and Mrs J J Solser of Jasper wed in Carthage Wednesday last week to the surprise of friends. Mr Moreman is about 73. his wife about 72. They were widowed about two years, with children grown and settled. Both are highly respected and receive best wishes.

Raymond and Vernie Wheeler returned to Jasper this week with honorable Army discharges from service in France. They enlisted in the signal corps over a year ago and spent five months in France. They left together, served together, and were discharged together.

Walter Tabler has purchased the Presbyterian Church site in Jasper and plans to tear down the old building to construct a bungalow. The property is described as one of the nicest residence locations in Jasper.
Mrs. Ethel Craig daughter of A L Lattimer died at Pieher Oklahoma of pneumonia and was buried two weeks ago at Carterville. She was well known there and leaves many friends besides her father brother husband and five children.
