Car Thief Foiled After School Auditorium Event
J Will Bowers and friends drove to Carthage for a high school auditorium entertainment. After the show, his Ford was found with its lock broken and would be thieves taken, but the close of the program likely stopped the attempt. Ti Lichtenwalter, formerly of Jasper, now in Pierson, Il, arrived in Jasper to visit old friends and tend his farm.

Nd Wardlow dies in Phoenix Arizona yesterday morning after a health decline of several years. He and his wife sought a climate change last fall to aid his lungs. Funeral plans are not yet known. Mrs. George Hex is his cousin and Mrs. McCurly is his aunt.
