Rev Culmer will give a lecture titled A Good Recipe at 8 o clock Wednesday February 17 at the opera house. The evening features humor and advice plus top musical talent. Pro gram includes listed numbers from both chorus and instrumental groups.
Piano duet Grande Vala de Concert and piano solo Valse Caprice Op 170 performed by Newland. Vocal solo by Mrs F J McComb. Lecture. Mixed quartet Moonlight Will Come Again. Admission 26 cents with children under 12 at 10 cents. Tickets available at Pitts drug store if missed at home. Social committees League M EB Church South Mr and Mrs Omer Webb return from California after four weeks along the coast.
Roy Wells and Miss Cara Bayne married last evening at the M E parsonage with Rev Kirk officiating. The groom, son of J K Wells of Jasper, has worked in the local jewelry business. The bride, daughter of Mrs Wm Bayne and sister of hardware dealer Homer Bayne, plans to start housekeeping soon. They will reside with the groom's parents while establishing their new home. Both have lived in Jasper all their lives and are highly regarded. The News extends best wishes for a long, happy marriage.
The Record notes Sarcoxie shipped strawberries worth about 80000 and zinc ore shipments near 75000 in 1908. Editor Finn claims Sarcoxie was the sole town in the millog district to raise its output over the past year. Sale cow on at Wheat & Bishop's.
