The Jasper County article reports support for improving the north south highway through Jasper with concrete paving. The State Highway Commission approves seven miles from Carthage to baseline, funded by state and national matches, with local surveys under Moberly and a new bridge proposed over Coon Creek. County funding is limited, but state and federal cooperation could finance bridges and road work as frost ends.
The 51 day grace to obtain 1920 license tags has expired. All drivers without tags may be arrested. Officials may show leniency briefly, but many motorists delayed by January end congestion at Jefferson City. A general campaign against cars with old tags will soon start in several districts.
