LIFE ON THE OCEAN WAVE BOYS JOINING NAVY FOR BETTER LIVES
The Navy seeks young men to staff ships and trains 1500 recruits weekly. Recruits gain more than sea life value, with mind training and physical growth. A dedicated division supports welfare, entertainment, athletics, libraries, chaplains, and on deck movies. Sailors may learn trades from painting to mechanics, with hundreds of specialties offered at Navy expense. About a hundred sailors annually enter the midshipman program at Annapolis.
