Lightning Strikes Dewey Area Killing Livestock
A severe electrical storm in Dewey town caused multiple deaths and injuries. Sam McReynolds and his son survived a lightning strike during a wagon ride. Arch Kies and John Gaddis lost cattle, Crow’s colt died, and two Gresham cows were killed near Salen Church. Widespread damage included damaged fences, downed telephone lines, and a burned store fuse area at Wheat & Ward. Community plans a church social as rain totaled seventeen hundredths of an inch.

T H B Bell and Chas Woodrow attended the spotted hog sale at Faulkner's farm near Jamesport last week. Hogs from both Bell and Woodrow farms were in the sale. A March male pig sold by Mr Bell topped the sale at 105 dollars.
