Big Knell Fair Opens With Four Day Program

The sixth arousal Koell Fair opens Tuesday August 27 and continues four days. Tuesday hosts school children day with 15000 free tickets. auto races only that day. If rain delays, child tickets move to Wednesday. Shows include trained dogs, trick bicyclists, show cattle hogs horses, and premium prizes. Alba Recovery Progress After Town Fire

Dr Emea of Alba told Joplin Globe last evening that rebuilding is in early stages. The lumber company is restoring its office and sheds to stock up quickly. One brick front is to be rebuilt and negotiations continue for others warped by the blaze. Many burned stores were owned by locals with little to lose yet but hope remains brick buildings will rise soon.

Jasper’s Gun Club Opens With Trap Competition

Jasper adds a gun club to its institutions. About a dozen sharp shooters bought 500 clay pigeons for daily trials starting last evening as the trap made its first run. W. C. Jenkins and Wes Spsid lead with 22 of 24, a hand thrown record set before the trap was used. Club membership will be limited to ten, as organization is not yet complete.

Quiet Wedding at Bago Line Home

Chas La Force and Miss Sadie Bedell were married last Monday evening at 7 o'clock in the home of the bride's parents. Rev Hill of Joplin officiated with a ring ceremony. Only close relatives attended. The groom, son of the late John LaForce, and the bride, daughter of Mr and Mrs C W Bedell, will reside in Kansas City where the groom works for the Kansas Mercantile Company.
