Philatheas Meet at Miss Lula Lawson Home
The Philatheas were entertained last Thursday evening at Miss Lula Lawson's home. Miss Lawson proved a charming hostess and the evening passed delightfully. Miss Fern Bright and Miss Fern Thacker gave a lively "Swimming match" skit and a later "picture" of each guest drew flattering results. Music, vocal and instrumental, enhanced the gathering with songs by Harry Davis and Everett Robinson. Delicious refreshments closed the event, with several invited guests present. Reporter.

Sunday School Revival Campaign in Jasper April Drive
The Jasper Sunday School began a month long revival campaign to be held through April to boost attendance. If you have not attended, visit next Sunday morning and support the effort. Edwin Taylor, northeast of Curthape, had his right eye and lower eyelid removed by Dr. A Cottingham for epitheliums. He recovered well. He is nephew of Wm Schooler and brother in law of Dr Cottingham.

Farmer Henry Conklin Fractures Leg After Hay Load
Henry Conklin well known farmer east of town fell from a hay load Monday and sustained a bad fracture above the ankle. Dr. Schooler reduced the fracture and says Conklin will be laid up five or six weeks.

Dr Elbert Pinney Dies at Monrovia Cal Former Jasper Resident
Dr Elbert Pinney aged about 80 died recently at his home in Monrovia California. He once lived in Jasper and his wife was sister to Mrs Frank King of Jasper. He practiced medicine in Henry County Iowa and Texas before moving to Missouri and later engaged in cattle enterprises in Menard County Texas. He was native to Connecticut and spent years in Ohio Pennsylvania Texas and Missouri. He is remembered by older local residents and his son practiced medicine in Jasper.
