He and the heavy engine plunged into a ditch eight feet deep but stopped nine Pullmans saving about eighty sleeping passengers. Fireman P F Jenson was badly scalded. An official says a wheel may have caused the wreck. Traffic halted eight hours.

Four people were killed when an express train on the Belvidere division of the Pennsylvania Railroad struck an automobile at the Scudders Falls crossing six miles from Trenton New Jersey.
