A murder in the first degree warrant was issued for Joseph Tabone 45 of 1540 Washington Street after he allegedly fatally stabbed Theodore Harns of Falconer with premeditation. Police continue pursuit as his wife Mrs. Crosifica Tabone posts $7500 bond as material witness. The motive cited is a $5 unpaid grocery bill.

Twenty Years Since Sherman House Fire in Jamestown
Twenty years ago today the Gokey Building on West Third Street and the Sherman House across the street were destroyed in Jamestown’s most spectacular fire. The blaze began at 1 15 A M March 14 1910 in the Gokey shoe factory ruins on Cherry Street, which had burned Saturday night March 12 1910. Captain Jonathan Hanson and Alfred E Shoesmith of the old volunteer Fire Department were killed and Joel Oberg was badly hurt. The Gokey site later became the Gokey Building and the Sherman House was replaced by the Hotel Samuels.
