Mahatma Gandhi with 70 volunteers begins a twenty day march from Ahmadabad to Jalalpur to protest British rule. The crowd swells as he vows nonpayment of taxes and salt manufacture to challenge the government's monopoly.
Mahatma Gandhi reports to T H K Reazmie from Ahmedabad that the independence movement remains absolutely peaceful with a nonviolence policy unchanged. He notes thousands are maintaining peace despite gross provocations and there is no whisper of military resistance.
William Fox filed in United States District Court for an injunction to prevent trustees Otterson and H L Otterson from voting stock of 1 Film and Fox Theatres Cp under a December trust. Fox seeks to name the sole owner of the stock while trustees oppose funding refinancing backed by Banc-American Corporation and other banks.

Jacob Nussman of Patterson New Jersey was sentenced to eighteen months in federal prison for concealing assets in bankruptcy. Israel Tabek and Samuel Langfur received two years and eighteen months respectively. Langfur also earned fees for advising others in the scheme. The Silk Company failed in 1927 after a six man conspiracy bought 100000 dollars in goods on fraudulent credit ratings.
In Johnson City Tennessee on March 11 Dr BE L Bishop head of the state health department announced after an all day inquiry into a stray paralysis affecting 120 persons in northeast Tennessee that diagnosis and cause remained unsettled. The symptom resembled multiple neuritis but infection or chemical toxin could not yet be determined. Official counts showed 138 cases unofficially reported with outbreaks across Johnson City Carter County Sullivan County and other areas. six deaths noted. A liquor link was deemed probable by Dr Moody though not stated officially. Victims report cold followed by sore throat numbness or sleepy legs and eventual loss of ankle movement.
Paul Gumlich a middle aged Canadian jumped from the Yorck aft deck at sea yesterday and was drowned. The incident occurred aboard the North German Lloyd liner Yorck near New York as the ship was returning from its voyage.
