Wounded Man in Serious Shape in Dunkirk Case
In Dunkirk Joseph Baresse of Corry is in serious condition after being shot once below the heart a week ago by Joseph Sofia over who would pay for a wedding gown. An x ray shows the bullet in the stomach with two punctured intestines. Sofia remains in police custody on an open charge as the wedding of Marcella Sofia and Frank Baresse is postponed.

Fire destroys upper floor of Harding Avenue home
A fire started by spontaneous combustion in a waste basket on an upstairs porch at 2:59 yesterday afternoon damaged a house at 107 Harding Avenue. Flames spread up the clapboards toward the attic before the firemen arrived. Chemicals extinguished the blaze, with considerable smoke filling the building. The house, owned by Charles Van Every, has Harry Lee occupying the upper floor and Mr. Eckerd the lower.
