Col Woolworth widely known politician and cattle and oil man died Friday night October 28 at 10 30 while receiving treatment at Shannon hospital San Angelo Texas after months of illness. Funeral services at Robert Massey Funeral Home San Angelo conducted by Rev Foreman with floral offerings, burial at Fairmont Cemetery. He leaves five sisters one brother and an aunt in San Angelo with several Jal attendees listed.

Mrs. Post's Choral Club hosted a party October 25 in Jal High School's Home Economics building with orange and black decor. Apples and pink popcorn balls complemented refreshments as members played Chinker Checks and Charades. Mary Lou Betty won for top score and best player. Mrs. Jimmy Sousares told fortunes as attendees reported an enjoyable evening.
