Mrs Lolly Chapelle a Jal beauty operator was slightly injured in an auto accident on November 24. She is receiving treatment for a wrenched shoulder and wrist with other injuries described as painful but not serious. The other occupant was uninjured.

The Rex Theatre screens Irving Berlin’s Alexander's Ragtime Band in a Zanuck production with Tyrone Power Don Ameche and Alice Faye. Henry King directs a cast including Ethel Merman Jack Haley Jean Hersholt Helen Westley John Carradine and Paul Hurst in a musical drama built around Berlin’s legendary score.
Jal Panthers dropped their season finale 27 to 6 against Hot Springs. Played under harsh conditions the Jal squad faced a post-meal, late-afternoon kickoff on a sandy field after a long bus ride, with a night game shift and challenging circumstances shaping the result.
The home of Doc Walls near the Continental Camp was heavily damaged by a Tuesday morning fire. Neighbor Mrs. W B Brown found the blaze, likely starting from an unattended kitchen stove. Walls and his two sons were away. neighbors saved much belongings though kitchen furniture and the ceiling roof were scorched. Thomas Fay helped control the fire before the department arrived.
Band Parents organize a game tournament Friday night December 2 in the High School Gym to raise funds for the Band Uniform Fund. Tournaments include Auction and Contract Bridge with prizes for high scores, plus 42, Chinker Checks and Dominoes. Admission 10 and 25 cents. all are invited. bring games not listed if desired. refreshments served after.
