Mrs Meeks entertained a company of friends last Thursday afternoon with five hundred at four tables. Red and white decor, luncheon favors, and tally cards highlighted the event. Mrs Marty Wagner won the prize a cut glass dish and Mrs J Reynolds the consolation for the ketchup.
An eight member group from Hammond Indiana including Ny Leck Fred Perkins St Van Vleck Richard Winger Fred Lovejoy and Le Grand T Meyer fished Jackson Lake last Saturday and Sunday catching between fifty and sixty pounds of fish the largest a sixteen pounder by Fred Lovejoy Weather was windy and cloudy yet the trip drew praise from locals who suggest Jackson Lake as a prime spot for fishing Other weekend activities include Mrs W P Redmond and children at Crystal Creek ranch visits by several residents and plans for two new clubs at Jackson school later this month plus interior painting on the Wm Stevenson house and a hunting trip by Roy McDougall and Ed Davis
The Gownty Agricultural Avent and County Home Demonstrator schedule meetings for ranchers and families in Jackson Kelly and Buffalo next week. At Jackson a daytime home nursing and care of the sick talk followed by a first aid demo and an Earle G. Reed discussion on stopping leaks in agriculture. Evening sessions cover meadow and hay land improvement, grain production, and livestock feeding with a Q&A. Kelly hosts a Saturday October 27 session in the schoolhouse. Buffalo holds a Monday evening October 9 meeting in the Buffalo schoolhouse. Jackson clubs host events Tuesday October 30 with 8:00 P.M. evening sessions and a 2:00 P.M. afternoon meeting in the club rooms.
School reports new style commercial desks in the recently completed second floor room. Classes resumed after a week long hunting break as higher rooms reopen. A. L. Hoshaw announces Courier change of address to Omaha. Various local residents travel for dental work and visits.
J P Cunningham and wife visited Saturday. Mrs Baxter and H H Scarborough Eye Specialist plan regular visits to Ward's Hotel Wilson October 24 25 Jackson Hotel October 26 27 and hotel in Kelly Sunday until 4 pm. Lost red corduroy girl's cord and laborer search noted.
G P MacGlashan was found dead beneath his overturned car near Sublet Springs after a long business career in Big Piney Wyoming. He had recently returned from Kemynte and was en route to Cheyenne when a telegram altered his plans. Police believe death was instantaneous, with no sign of struggle. The Big Piney Examiner note expresses deep regret and extends sympathy to family and community.
The note describes a Halloween party planned for Friday night at the school house with five rooms two large balls and a cellar. Mrs Van and her crew will bring in the gals while the season adds ghostly decorations and thrills.

Mr and Mrs Win Drawford and their son Bewin plan to leave the valley next week for California where they intend to settle for the winters and send their son to a military school or West Point style education They expect to spend summers at Jacksons Hole and rear their son with educational advantages in Los Angeles_ The family also plans to favor the Elk Ranch area before departing.
The South Park Relief Society hosted six new members and seven members of the Jackson group with a lesson by Mrs. Treun followed by discussion. Refreshments were served.
