Surveying Trip Yields Townsite and Bridge Plans

Ocho Williams returned from surveying across the valley laying out forty acres for Usemew townsite Grovont with portions owned by Joseph Eggieston and Thomas Perry. He also mapped Hoagland itch, mill site at Kelly, and eight miles of road to connect a proposed bridge with the old road. Gill Hoff moves toward a new Grovont canyon bridge and a residence for Dr. C W Buff in Jackson.

Resolutions of Sympathy at Baptist Church in Jackson

Resolutions of sympathy and regard passed at the Baptist church of Jackson Wyoming on October 14 1917 for the death of Deacon William Wiley Smith. The church records praise his service and counsel and express deep sorrow at his loss. A copy of the resolutions will be filed, printed in the local paper, and sent to the bereaved family. Allen Willard of the Jackson Drug Co is suffering from a severe attack of tonsillitis. Dr W Huff accompanied Mrs Cora L Sebastian to Idaho Falls hospital for X ray examination for jaw/ tooth trouble.

Vice President Thomas R. Marshall to Speak in Kemmerer

Vice President of the United States Thomas R. Marshall will speak at Cook’s Pavilion in Kemmerer on November 2. The event, arranged as a county get-together, will feature a social dance and concert with admission 75 cents per person. Tickets are available in advance by writing to Charles E. Bruce, Kemmerer, Wyoming, and many Jackson Hole residents plan to attend as roads are reported in excellent condition.

Pure Food Club entertains with sewing and music

Mrs. Ivan Kelly and Mrs. T. M. Bates hosted the Pure Food Club Friday afternoon at Mrs. Bates home. Members knit for the Red Cross and enjoyed a two course luncheon while Miss Nancy Hemphill and Miss Mix Kimball gave vocal and piano selections. The next meeting shifts to Friday, November 2 hosted by Miss Forrester and Mrs. C. W. Beagle.

Trip Through Yellowstone Park With Noted Jackson Group

Mrs. B. E. Miller and companions Miss Green Miss Boteler T. G. Huff and Dr. C. W. Huff left Jackson Thursday in the Miller car for an unusually pleasant Yellowstone Park trip. Despite the park season being closed, mild weather allowed a full round of the park with no other travelers and roads in excellent condition. The party returned Saturday evening describing the journey as most enjoyable for all.

Aspen Ridge Potato Crop Brings Ten Tons From Small Acreage

Mr. Chas. Allen gathered his potato crop last week yielding ten tons from one and a half acres with large weights noted. He also grew beans, sweet corn, squash and cucumbers on the ranch recently bought from Albert Nulan. Grain in this end of the valley is stacked, with a smaller threshing total expected this fall than last year.
