Two Men Arrested on Burglary Charge

Deputy Sheriff Francis arrested Earl Griswold for breaking into and robbing the Kelly Mercantile store two months ago. Griswold, his mother, and a suspect, James Priestly, were linked to the crime and Griswold pleaded guilty and was bound over to the district court. Griswold confessed to stealing rifles and boots, and claimed to be a paroled Colorado convict. A preliminary hearing is set for tomorrow morning.

Last Chance to Register for City Votes

Mesdames Nelson and Brown are at the telephone office with the registration books again today and will be there tomorrow. If you didn’t register two weeks ago you must do so today or tomorrow. Debates over whether non residents must register to vote in an incorporated town spark opinions that judges may not bar suffrage for those who fail to register in Jackson.

Crabtree Family Trip and Local Bridge Appeal

Mr and Mrs Crabtree and son Henry began a trip to visit relatives in Indianola Nebraska then to Fredonia Kansas to deliver their car. Contractors stand ready to start the bridge project with local contributions urged. Also offering two milch cows with calves and a yearling heifer. Mrs Susie Lloyd oversees the Crabtree hotel during their absence.

Bridge Project Sparks Local Fund Drive In Jackson

A Jackson meeting led by J Le Bynon and Prohard Winger organized funding for a bridge project. Local businessmen pledged about 4,000 with committees formed to gather more funds as state and county gaps were bridged by a $50,000 state emergency grant and a $15,000 shortfall remained.

Rose Named Democratic Candidate for County Prosecution

Attorney R. R. Rose selected by the Deliberatic County Central Committee to fill the vacancy for County and Prosecuting Attorney after the death of Med. L. Mullings. Rose accepted the appointment and plans to campaign with other county candidates who visited Jackson Hole last week. He previously held the office in 1917 and 1918 and is praised as an able, energetic lawyer who managed tough cases without outside help. Jackson accepts will to gift Frontier Park for town use

At a Monday meeting Mayor Miller led residents in endorsing the acceptance of Frontier Park by Jackson. Intimate friends of the donor Belle Flanders specify the park be held in trust, with a monument bearing her name and annual school prizes. Provisions require care of grounds and buildings, trees planted, and proper governance by a town or trust. The town council is urged to proceed with acceptance per the donor’s will and dated October 1, 1920.
