The Red Cross dance in Wilson last Friday night drew a large crowd from the valley. Proceeds totaled 47.00 for Red Cross work, with a splendid supper at T. N. McDog’s. The hosts deserve praise for a well run evening of patriotic songs and dancing lasting into the morning.
Through Congressman Mondell efforts Jackson’s Hole residents gain permission to haul coal from the Buffalo Creek Reclamation Service mine. The change ends a winter coal shortage caused by war work and a prohibitive order, aiding settlers near Jackson’s Lake in the forest reserve project.
F B Van Vieck and Frank Wilhelm visited Jackson area with friends before returning to Fall River Basin. Margaret F Nicholson County Superintendent visits Jackson schools with B F Bondurant. James 8 Simpson joins a hill party to hunt sheep. Milt Young leaves for Nebraska to work cornfields. Bondurant bear pictures displayed at Jackson Mercantile Co.

Harry Scott of Dry Hollow suffered severe back and hip injuries when a bucking horse threw him near Gros Ventre. He was taken to W. P. Redmond's home and examined by Dr. Huff. no bones were broken but tendons and ligaments were badly torn, likely bedfast for some time. Friends express deep sympathy.
Announcement for Home Economics Associations formed at Farmers Institute meetings in Jackson and Cheney. Cheney officers: President Mrs George Wilson, Vice President Mrs Dave Cheney, Secretary Mrs Pearl Tavis, Treasurer Mrs Susanna Imeson. First meetings set for November 10 in Jackson at St Johns Club Room and November 9 at the home of Mrs Susanna Imeson. Urgent invitation to all to join and boost membership.
Guy Butler, employed at the Fox saw mill above Wilson, caught his left thumb in machinery Wednesday afternoon, nearly severing it. He had the wound dressed in Jackson that evening and hopes to save the thumb. Neighbors anticipate Hoagland will clear a Cheyenne charge after bonds posted, and Idaho stockmen from Lose River looked at Jackson for potential relocation. A big dance is planned at the Jackson Club House on Friday, November 16. all invited.

United States Senators William Kenyon of Iowa and John Kendrick of Wyoming passed unscathed through their second air raid in London. Awakened by German bombardment, they watched from their hotel top floors with soldiers’ resolve, then met Lord Rhonda to discuss food supply before touring northern shipyards.
Mr and Mrs Claude Saye and son left the B Ferrin place southeast of town with Elmer Stodges driving them to Victor. Mr and Mrs J P Ganningham and Mr and Mrs J H Alline came from Kirk to spend the day with A B Miller. E G Craft bought grain and visited H M Bly. Mrs Henry Crabtree, recently ill, is reported much better.
The Jackson School Superintendent appeals to parents to curb trivial excusals that harm students. He argues absences hurt the learner, create extra teacher work, delay classmates, foster careless habits, and reduce interest in education. He urges better cooperation and asks for clear reasons for every absence to avoid misjudging the child.
Pure Food Club gathered Friday at Mrs C W Beagle to sew and socialize with guests. Hosts served a luncheon. Miss Faustina Forrester assisted. Davis ranch for the winter. Many locals travel to the Gros Ventre area for meals, while RF Davis comes from Poete tello on business.
The next Teachers Examination takes place in Kemmerer Big Piney Afton and Jackson on December 6 and 4 1017 Paper supplied by the examiners Pens and ink to be provided by teachers Lincoln County Superintendent Maneaver Fr Nicholson. A small attic fire at M D Meeks home caused minor excitement but was extinguished with no damage. Mr and Mrs Braddock Peton visited town on business earlier this week.
