Red Cross Dance Successful In Wilson Event

The Red Cross dance in Wilson last Friday night drew a large crowd from the valley. Proceeds totaled 47.00 for Red Cross work, with a splendid supper at T. N. McDog’s. The hosts deserve praise for a well run evening of patriotic songs and dancing lasting into the morning.

Residents Win Coal Access From Reclamation Mine

Through Congressman Mondell efforts Jackson’s Hole residents gain permission to haul coal from the Buffalo Creek Reclamation Service mine. The change ends a winter coal shortage caused by war work and a prohibitive order, aiding settlers near Jackson’s Lake in the forest reserve project.

Man at Fox saw mill suffers thumb injury in accident

Guy Butler, employed at the Fox saw mill above Wilson, caught his left thumb in machinery Wednesday afternoon, nearly severing it. He had the wound dressed in Jackson that evening and hopes to save the thumb. Neighbors anticipate Hoagland will clear a Cheyenne charge after bonds posted, and Idaho stockmen from Lose River looked at Jackson for potential relocation.
