Register in Jackson's Hole June 6 1917 for 21 to 31 year olds

Do not fail to register Tuesday June 6 1917 under Wilson's proclamation. Registering is a public duty with no exemptions for ages 21 to 31 in Jackson's Hole. Appointed registrars are listed with locations Moran and Kelly in Grovont, while Bik or Grovont have no appointed registrars. Booths open 7 am to 9 pm. Penalty for noncompliance is imprisonment, not a fine.

Forestry Regiment To Be Organized In War Service

Washington May 21 A forestry regiment of foresters woodsmen loggers and lumbering experts will be raised immediately for service in France The Forest Service will aid in plans equipment and enlistment to form an engineer corps unit The move follows a British Commission suggestion with Canadian regiments already in service The goal is to convert timber into bridges railways and trenches with minimal forest damage and under French supervision The unit will include portable sawmill outfits and cover many woodwork trades as recruits are gathered at six central points Also notes a social item about Dr and Mrs Huff trip to Salt Lake City</S>

Annual Memorial Services Amid Stormy Weather

Decoration Day memorial services were held Wednesday afternoon at WoWi Brall with strong attendance despite rain. Odd Fellows led the ceremonial service, followed by citizen readings, songs, and speeches. Mayor H W Deloney was absent due to illness. his brother delivered the patriotic address. A procession to the cemetery concluded the observances at the graves of the honored dead.

Miss Jean B Burt arrived at the Bar 1K ranch after a two month pack trip through Arizona and New Mexico. New York’s Miss Marlon Danforth met Miss Burt in Salt Lake City and stays at the Bar Bo for the summer. Local residents report a busy farming week with plowing and grain trips to Grovont and Jenny's Lake. Harold Hammond went missing on Sunday causing a small scare until he was found alive with his horse nearby. Findings note visits to Menor, Harris, and Deyo ranches and several trips to forage grain and oats along the Skinner and LaGravante regions.

Mrs Willian Shinkle born in Mecator Illinois died at Twin Falls Idaho May 7 after a long illness. She married December 26 1896 to William Shinkle and left behind sons Dred Shinkle and Ray Shinto and daughters Jessie Clark Ettle Vernon along with her husband. She endured illness with faith and was laid to rest in Twin Falls cemetery.
