Celebration planned in Jackson with two day events

A Jackson celebration is planned for the latter part of this month or early July with a two day program including a ball game bucking contests home races children’s pie eating contests a picture show and a dance. Dates likely June 27 and 28 with a delegation from Idaho expected. The community continues cemetery cleanup and fencing to keep cattle away from graves amid river conditions affecting ferry traffic and a planned bridge installation.

Fire at Grovont destroys buildings and meat loss

A Monday afternoon blaze at Grovont damaged about $1,000 worth of buildings machinery grain and $200 of pork belonging to Joseph Johnson. Fire started while Johnson tended meat in the grainary with cattle nearby and spread before discovery. Neighbors aided Mrs Johnson, saving the home and other structures. A Zenith fire destroyed Orin Seaton's home the prior day. Mrs Seaton and neighbors saved most belongings after discovering the stove fire.

Community urges cemetery fence work in Jackson

The cemetery committee invites all interested residents to meet Thursday June 17 to help build a fence around the city burial ground. The town council has set aside funds and will provide wire. bring axes shovels crowbars and arrive by ten o'clock.

Auto Accident Near Kelly Injures Two Men

Two men from Cache Valley Utah were in a serious crash near Kelly when a steering fault sent their car off a dugway by Mr Almy s ranch. The younger man was trapped beneath the car as it rolled three times. Dr Huff and Richard Singer arrived within five minutes and both were taken to Jackson hospital where they remain confined with internal injuries feared.

Special School Meeting Votes 5 Mill Levy in Jackson

Attendance was small at a Jackson special school meeting held Friday to decide on a five mill levy in addition to the regular three and a half mills. Officials presented a revenue plan noting costs for six schools and a new Cheney and Horse Creek building, with a projected deficit of about 235 dollars. The voters approved the five mill levy. Mr and Mrs Dr Van Vleck and daughter Stella left for Lawton Michigan Wednesday for a month-long trip.

Jackson Wyoming Town Council Minutes June 2 1919

The Jackson town council met with Mayor Henry Crabtree and members Reed Loyd Huff Simpson Wort. Bills approved include Nash clerkship 30, Pearl Williams clerkship 83, wages for officers and street work. The May 18 election results named Henry Crabtree mayor and Reed, Loyd, Simpson, Fox as councilmen. Council adjourned, then reassembled with new appointments confirmed for treasurer Nash and others, and a street land sale ordinance slated for next meeting. J Milt Young and Pete Richards noted. Chamberlains Colic and Diarrhoea Remedy recommended for stomach issues. Endorsed by council.
