Giltner Ranch Sold in Major Valley Deal

M. W. Giltner sold 480 acres west of town including homestead to 8 J Callahan who has adjoining ranch holdings. Callahan has been expanding since purchasing J. H. Wilson estate land and now controls prime valley ranch property. Giltner retains about 1500 acres in Jackson’s Hole and cattle. plans retirement. Meanwhile residents Loomis family move to Salt Lake City with George Loomis at the University electrical engineering program.

Special Water Bond Election in Jackson Will Be Held

PUBLIC NOTICE states Jackson Wyoming townspeople may vote March 18 1919 on borrowing 17500 to issue 35 bonds of 500 each to build a water works system for domestic supply and fire protection. Ballots issued by town clerk list official ballot wording. The notice closes with a funeral notice for Mrs J A Wilson arriving in Victor and to be interred in South Park cemetery.

Mrs M D Meeks Leaves for Idaho Treatment

Mrs M D Meeks departed Saturday for Pocatello Idaho to undergo baths at Heidee Hot Springs and plans a two to three week absence. John Mayer formerly at Talbot mill moved his family to Jackson last Saturday and now resides in the Mrs M B Bates home. Mrs Bert Carrol and her son from Grovant visited Jackson Monday. P C Hansen traveled to Victor earlier in the week.

Valley Sees Heavy Snowfall Disrupting Transport

A storm hits the valley this week bringing heavy snow from Tuesday morning through Wednesday. Mail service was halted Wednesday while roads are cleared today and rail traffic is expected to resume tonight. The Victor Ashton tram was delayed but reached Victor late that evening. Don Miller arrived from Kelly Monday with coal from the Diteh Creek mine.

Notes report returning servicemen from World War I era, including Lester Leek arriving at Camp Dix on February 24, and Almer Nelson with the Mth Engineers near Bordeaux awaiting ship home. Arthur Blair mustered out at Fort Logan, Fred Deyo discharged from Cap Kearney, James Hobertson back from Camp Lewis, and social events plus local hospital update on Dave Ghaney after appendicitis.

Dr. H. H. Scarborough will be at the Jackson Hotel on Wednesday and Thursday March 12 and 13. He promises to stop headaches and correct eye defects for attendees.
