Blizzard Delays Mail and Rail in Northwest Towns
Last Friday began a severe blizzard sweeping the northwest. Mail service halted for days as rail lines and roads were snowbound. In Jacksons Hole trains stalled near Drumond with passengers aboard, rotaries struggled but stalled, and recovery operations aimed for noon today with hope of Ashton-bound trains resuming next day. Snow drifts and slides have blocked Teton Pass and kept mail and stages from crossing. Messages say rotaries cannot reach the stranded train, delaying mail for several days.

Small Snow Slide Traps Man Near Tanner Springs
H Fiscus escaped injury when a ten foot deep snow slide from the bank near Tanner Springs in South Park buried his sleigh. His son Owen driving the team quickly pulled him free with no damage reported. A masquerade dance for children up to 16 years is set for Friday February 9 from 8 to 10:30 p m. Tickets are Regular. Mrs James Budge has improved after several days with La Grippe.
